Cross Country - Coed Varsity
AHS Cross Country Runs in Buffalo Trace Conference Championship

On Tuesday, October 03, Augusta’s high school cross country team competed Buffalo Trace Conference Championship at Mason County.  The Buffalo Trace Conference consists of Augusta, Bracken County, Fleming County, Mason County, and St. Pat.

In the boys’ varsity race, David Reed led the way for the Panthers, medaling and finishing in 10th place in 18:45.  Also medaling was Adam Sallee, placing 12th running 19:01.  Seth Fouts finished in 20:24, Clayton Jamison in 24:22, and Stephen Cordle in 30:35.  Sallee, Fouts, and Cordle set new personal records.

“Seth has ran personal bests in the last two meets, so we need him to continue that trend as we approach region,” Augusta Coach Tim Litteral said. “Adam had a fifty second PR today, and almost broke into the 18:00s.  That’s huge for him and would be big for us if he can replicate that type of performance away from the Mason County course.  While we no doubt need David to run his best race at region, Adam will a big key to any potential success we can have.”

The team will next compete at the Area 7 Championship this Saturday, Oct. 14, at Mason County.
