Track & Field - Coed Varsity
Athletes Record Top 5 Finishes at Harrison County Track Invitational

The Augusta track and field team competed in the 49th annual Harrison County Invitational on Saturday, April 28, even though the team was somewhat short-handed due to scheduled baseball and softball games.

The team had four top-four finishes.  Jushod Commodore placed 3rd in the 200M dash, running 25.82 seconds. He also placed 4th in the 100M dash with a time of 12.62.   Seth Fouts placed 4th in the 800M run, finishing in 2:30.10.  Conner Snapp placed 3rd in the 3200M run, finishing in 12:48.

Violet Hiles competed in the 200M dash, running 33.56, as well as in the 400M dash, running 1:19.55.

In addition to competing in the 3200, Conner Snapp ran the 1600M in 5:37.

In the long jump, Commodore 15 feet 7.25 inches, while Fouts jumped 13 feet 9.5 inches.

“The wind today was something we hadn’t really had to deal with this year,” Coach Tim Litteral said.  “The long jumpers were jumping into the wind, and I’m sure it had some effect on the distance runners, but like the wet conditions on Tuesday, we never know what the conditions will be like at region, so it could be beneficial to compete in less-than-perfect conditions.”
